ACO Director Code of Conduct

The American Cornhole Organization expects all ACO Directors and players to uphold the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship.

Ethical Commitment

ACO Directors must act in the spirit of the game and promote fairness and respect at all times. Cheating, manipulation, or any behavior that compromises the integrity of play will not be tolerated. Allegations supported by conclusive evidence may result in probation, suspension, or termination. Each case will be reviewed individually, and no refunds will be issued for fees or tickets if violations occur.

ACO Director Responsibilities

• I will respect players, fellow Directors, spectators, and families.
• I will uphold the standards and values of the ACO through the events I organize.
• I will make decisions in the best interest of participants and the ACO.
• I will promote fairness, inclusion, and due process for all involved.
• I will follow and support all ACO policies and procedures.
• I will act with honor, integrity, and loyalty to the ACO brand.
• I will represent the ACO with professionalism and respect.
• I will master the rules and enforce them with impartiality and consistency.
• I will work cooperatively with other Directors and State Ambassadors.
• I will maintain ethical behavior in all public communications, including social media.

Acknowledgement

By serving as an ACO Director, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. I understand that violations may result in suspension or termination under ACO policies.

Prohibited Conduct

The American Cornhole Organization may terminate any ACO Director or ACO Membership privileges at its sole discretion if an individual engages in or is alleged to have engaged in:

• Harassment
• Discrimination
• Intimidation
• Violence
• Criminal activity
• Conduct involving moral turpitude
• Any behavior deemed damaging to the ACO’s reputation

Termination Details

• Termination is immediate and without refund of any membership or ticket fees.
• ACO will make reasonable efforts to notify affected individuals.
• Terminated individuals may not participate in any future ACO events or represent themselves as affiliated with the ACO in any way.

General Compliance Clause

Any failure to comply with ACO rules, policies, or procedures—whether outlined in this Guide or communicated separately by the ACO—may result in probation, suspension, or termination of ACO Director status and/or ACO Membership, at the sole discretion of the ACO. This applies regardless of intent, timing, or precedent.

Director Authority to Restrict Access

ACO Directors operate as independently owned and managed organizations and are solely responsible for their relationships with venues, sponsors, partners, and insurance providers. As such, Directors reserve the right to deny participation in any ACO Regional tournament under their coordination to any individual who, in their reasonable judgment, has caused a disruption at a past event or is likely to cause a disruption at a future event. This right may be exercised at the discretion of the Director in order to preserve the integrity, safety, and success of the event and its partnerships.
